Authentication failed in EM

Hi,
We are using SQL Server 2000 SP3A and we have 3 instances in 3 different
servers.
I am facing strange issue in 2 of our 3 instances.
When I open EM and try to open it says Authentication failure, I tried both
methods viz. windows authentication and SQL authentication but failed though
I am giving correct username and passwords
While installation I had prefered mixed mode authentication.
through ODBC connection is successful, SQL server service is running but
application
is unable to get database.
What could be the problem, I am unable to find out, can somebody please help
me to find the cause of this problem and solution.
